With thanks to Folens, publishers of Smart Business, the Smart Business Award (SBA) returns for 2023/24 with an EXCITING NEW ANGLE. We are setting second level students all over the country a SMART Marketing Challenge!!!

 

We want you to take an existing product and see how you can change it up to make it even better …. then we want you to create a Smart Marketing Mix for your new product!

 

THIS YEAR’S STUDENT CHALLENGE IS TO:

 

-RESEARCH the marketing mix of an existing product/service….. (Product/Price/Place/Promotion)…… 

 

-ADAPT the product…..

 

-CREATE a new marketing mix……

 

-REFLECT on what you have learned

Who Can Enter?

-Any student whose school is registered with the Student Enterprise Programme 2023/24 can enter

-Students do not have to be taking part in mini-company in order to enter this competition

 Format of Entry

-A3 poster (electronic)

-Front of poster should cover the detail of the marketing mix

-Back of poster should contain detail of students’ sources

-Deadline is 20th March 2024

Categories

-Junior Category – 1st, 2nd, 3rd year students (Group Entry)

(Complements 2nd year CBA for Business Studies)

-Senior Category – TY,4th, 5th, 6th year students & Youthreach students* (Individual Entry)

Rules & Regulations

-School must be registered with SEP 2023/24 in order to qualify to enter

-Judges’ decision is final

-Entry must be made via the online portal

-No late entries accepted

Prizes

Junior Category:

€1,000 prize fund

Senior Category:

€1,000 prize fund 

Shortlisting Required

-A maximum of ONE ENTRY PER CATEGORY PER SCHOOL will be accepted

-Schools are asked to shortlist internally and submit one junior/intermediate and one senior category entry via the online portal
