The Local Enterprise Office is committed to its transparency obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This notice contains important information about how we process personal data that is supplied to us by clients. We request that you read the notice carefully and that you ensure that it is made available to any data subjects (e.g. your students) whose personal data you provide to us.

By ticking “I agree”, you confirm that: (a) you have complied with your own data protection obligations in respect of the personal data that you supply to us and that you are entitled to disclose such personal data to us; and (b) you will ensure that a copy of our data protection notice is sent to data subjects (e.g. your students) whose personal data you provide to us.

Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 Participants must adhere to the Terms and Conditions when entering any competitions operated by the Local Enterprise Offices, or any company or website owned or controlled by the Local Enterprise Offices.
1.2 By entering and participating in this competition participants agree to these Terms and Conditions. All entry instructions and any other specific details relating to the competition form part of these Terms and Conditions.
1.3 By entering the competition entrants are acknowledging to the Local Enterprise Offices that they have read and understood the Terms and Conditions and agree to them.

2. Entry

2.1 To enter the competition, participants must submit an online application which meets the eligibility criteria.
2.2 No purchase or payment is necessary to enter this competition.
2.3 All entries received before the closing date of 20th March 2024 will be judged by a national judging panel and one winner in the junior category and one winner in the senior category chosen. It is intended that the winners will be announced in May 2024.

3. Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

3.1 The School as a whole must be registered with the Student Enterprise Programme 2023/24.
3.2 Junior entries must be group-based and senior entries should be individual. Youthreach students must be no older than 18 years of age to enter.
3.3 Applicants must submit an online application by the closing date of the 20th March 2024.
3.4 Applicants must own, control and manage their business Intellectual Property where applicable. The Local Enterprise Offices are not liable in any way for any costs, expenses, damages, liability or injury relating to Intellectual Property or otherwise arising out of or in any way connected with the competition.
3.5 The Local Enterprise Offices retain the right to disqualify any entrant to any competition when it considers the applicant has not met with the eligibility criteria.
3.6 Fraudulent, unreadable or incorrect entries will not be accepted (at the absolute discretion of the Local Enterprise Offices).

4. Publicity

4.1 Competitors may be required to participate in a photo, video and/or film session, and must acknowledge that the Local Enterprise Offices have the rights to use such publicity photos, videos and/or films in any medium and in any way it sees fit.
4.2 By entering a competition an applicant will automatically give permission for use of certain personal data and where this situation arises this information will be kept in accordance with our Data Protection Policy.

5. Local Enterprise Offices– Exclusion of Liability

5.1 Entrants should ensure that the business idea being submitted is their own idea, and understand that as the idea is being entered in the public domain through this competition, it may be subject to media and PR coverage. The Local Enterprise Office and Student Enterprise Programme will not be responsible in any way for any IP infringement or loss of intellectual property caused or suffered by the applicant as a result of entering this competition.
5.2 The Local Enterprise Offices accept no legal responsibility for any loss of profit, business, contracts or revenues incurred by the applicant.

6. Jurisdiction

6.1 These rules shall be applied and understood in accordance with Irish Law.
6.2 The Local Enterprise Offices or any of its agents have the rights to add or amend to the Terms and Conditions at any time.
